Dr. Muhammad Ehsan Khan is an entrepreneur and an internationally acknowledged professional on the subject of Governance of Strategic Initiatives. An award-winning strategist with over a decade of leadership success, and a career that has driven multi-million-dollar projects for various clients in Middle East and Pakistan, Dr. Ehsan is the CEO/Co-Founder of a Pakistan/UAE/Malaysia/Saudi Arabia based firm “Inseyab Consulting & Information Solutions LLC”. The firm’s objective is to optimize and utilize organizational data, and provide business intelligence and data driven solutions and services that assist, and enable, business owners and senior executives to take informed decisions, resulting in improvement in organizational efficiency and business results.

Professional Accomplishments

Dr. Khan serves as an advisor to executive boards of various Middle Eastern and Pakistani firms and is a member of various international associations. Fulfilling his ambition of contributing to Pakistan’s economic development, he attracted foreign investors by establishing his firm’s software development center in Karachi. This initiative not only brought foreign investment, it also provided a platform for developing competent technical resources for the country. Inseyab Consulting is a premier Data Management and Business Intelligence firm that enables its customer to leverage the power of data. In doing that, he wanted to make sure that Pakistan emerges as the leading market players in the Business Intelligence and Data Management Domain internationally.

Before Inseyab, Dr. Khan founded e-Services and Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. (1999) to offer technology related services to customers Pakistan and US. He was also a founding member of PDS Technologies LLC (2005), UAE, a firm focused on developing the first trading platform in the Gulf Region. He played a crucial part in establishing the technology delivery operations of Sibisoft Inc (2003), US, in Karachi.

With special inclination towards strategic planning and governance of projects and programs, Ehsan has provided management, consulting and mentoring services in the Middle East Region. He has been involved in establishment of PMO, implementation of management/governance frameworks, and related practices and tools, in order to create an environment of project management excellence. He has also been managing medium-large scale ICT programs and projects for various customers, especially in the government sector.

He loves to photography and traveling around the world with his family and friends, visiting new countries and explore what life has to offer.

Academic Achievements

Dr. Khan attained his PHD in Strategy, Programme and Project Management as a valedictorian from the SKEMA Business School, France. He awarded with the prestigious International Project Management Association’s IPMA Young Researcher of the Year Award for 2013, for his PhD research on the subject of Project Governance. He is also the first Muslim and Pakistani to receive James Snyder Award by Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2012. Acknowledging his vision to develop the field of governance, PMI granted Dr. Khan with Dr. Harold Kerzner Scholarship from PMI in 2012. He is the second professional from Pakistan to attain the certification of Program Management Professional (PgMP) by Project Management Institute (PMI).

Dr. Khan is author of the first-ever book dedicated to the subject of “Program Governance” and has co-authored “Program Management: A Life Cycle Approach” and “Handbook of Portfolio Management”. His other publications include, “Contextual Project Governance”, “Relationship between Project Attributes, Project Performance and Project Governance Dimensions: Building a Theoretical Framework” and “Contingent Governance Framework for Projects (CGFP)”.  In order to support other researchers and research publications, Dr. Khan works as a reviewer for International Journal of Project Management (IJPM) and was awarded with Certificate of Reviewer Excellence for his contributions.
