Governor Sindh Mr. Imran Ismail is a trusted aide of Prime Minister Mr. Imran Khan. He enjoys the privilege of being one of those who stood side by side with Mr. Imran Khan from the very start of his political struggle. That is why, Mr. Imran Khan after becoming Prime Minister of Pakistan nominated Mr. Imran Ismail as 33rd Governor of Sindh.
Mr. Imran Ismail was born in Karachi in 1966. He completed his Matriculation Education from Cantt Public School. He completed his Higher Secondary Education from Government National College Karachi and he went abroad, first to Italy and later to the United State to pursue his Diploma in leather chemical and leather technology.
Mr. Imran Ismail is the former Chairman of Karachi Chamber of Commerce’s Finance Committee. He also had the honor of serving as a member of the Managing Committee of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry.
Mr. Ismail started taking an active part in social and welfare work in 1993 as a volunteer for ShaukatKhannum Memorial Trust and later on launched the donation collection campaign in which he took help of several International Celebrities to raise funds for this Nobel cause.He also helped in Establishing Imran Khan Foundation after the 2010 floods in Pakistan. With this, he helped to establish a hospital in Jamshoro to help the flood affectees. For the same reason, he teamed up with Pukar Foundation to raise funds for the affectees and was able to collectRs. 2 billion.
Mr. Imran Ismail being a Founding Member of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf, has been a loyal party worker and has served on several positions within the party. He has previously served as President PTI Karachi, President PTI Sindh, Deputy Secretary General PTI and has also remained a member of several party committees.
Mr. Imran Ismail took part in several elections. In 1997’s General Election, he ran from PS-91 (Now PS-115). In 2014’s By-Elections, he ran from NA-246 (Now NA-254). Recently in 2018’s General Election, he ran from PS-111 (previously PS-112) from where he was elected as a Member of Provincial Assembly of Sindh, which he later resigned from to take up responsibilities of the Governor of Sindh on 27 August, 2018.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
